We offer our employees exciting further and advanced training courses that are tailored to their role requirements and individual career planning. From specialist further training as a doctor to postgraduate courses for nursing and leadership courses for managers: With us, you will find a diverse range of topics relating to your professional development.
Many of our continuing education courses are formats that we have developed at the USB tailored to the needs of our various professional groups. Our continuing education program benefits from the exchange with the University of Basel and the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland. We are guided by the current state of research, always combined with our practical experience in everyday hospital life.
Internal training program
Our internal training program combines up-to-date theory with practical application. The courses are flexibly tailored to your needs and various career paths:
In addition to specialist training for doctors, nurses and other professional groups, it also includes interdisciplinary courses, language and exercise courses and leadership development courses.
CAS courses for managers
We support our managers with a wide range of further training and leadership development courses and, if required, with leadership coaching. In addition, we offer in-house CAS courses on the focus topics of "Leadership" or "Change processes".
The CAS courses on leadership development are primarily aimed at employees of the University Hospital Basel, but are also open to external interested parties.
CAS Leadership
The core module in the CAS Leadership - Leadership in Healthcare focuses on typical leadership challenges, group processes and team dynamics, on dealing with conflicts and resistance and on strengthening personal confidence even in difficult situations.

CAS Change Processes
The core module in the CAS Accompanying Change Processes in Healthcare Organizations teaches models and practical approaches for the diagnosis of social systems in change processes as well as design principles and procedures for their targeted further development.
