Information on training
Job description
As an EFZ logistics technician at the University Hospital Basel, you will be responsible for the professional management of various items (medical consumables, laboratory and household items, office supplies, linen, food, etc.). You will receive the goods, carry out a quality check, store the items using a forklift or other equipment and record all movements in the warehouse management system. You process customer orders accurately and on time so that they can be delivered at the right time. You will also carry out regular stock checks to ensure that there are no stock shortages in the warehouse. You will work with PCs, tablets or smartphones in all areas.
Logistics at the University Hospital Basel consists of modern and well-organized warehouses equipped with the latest technology.
During your training, you will gain an insight into various departments. For example, you will also work in distribution, where you will be responsible for the correct delivery of parcels or accompany the driver on deliveries to the USB's external sites. You will complete another internal internship in ward logistics. There you will work directly on the wards and ensure that all specialists (doctors, nurses, cooks, etc.) have the right material, in the right quality, in the right quantity and in the right place at the right time.
