Logistician EFZ, specializing in warehouse technology (station logistics)

If you enjoy tidiness and are looking for a varied apprenticeship in which physical activities are combined with work on the PC, then USB is the right place for you.

Training in ward logistics takes place in the departments, clinics, external sites and in the operating theater. The individual skills of warehouse logistics are taught in the internal practices in the central warehouse.

You can find more information about logistics training at the University Hospital Basel on this page.

Information on training

As an EFZ logistics technician at the University Hospital Basel, you will be responsible for the professional management of various items (medical consumables, laboratory and household items, office supplies, linen, food, etc.). You will order and receive the goods, carry out quality control and store the items in the defined storage locations. In the central warehouse, you will store the items using a forklift or other equipment and record all movements in the warehouse management system. You process customer orders accurately and on time so that they can be delivered at the right time. You will also carry out regular stock checks to ensure that there are no stock shortages in the warehouse. You will work with PCs, smartphones or tablets in all areas.

Logistics at the University Hospital Basel consists of modern and well-organized warehouses equipped with the latest technology.

During your training, you will gain an insight into various departments. For example, you will also work in distribution, where you will be responsible for the correct delivery of parcels, process and distribute internal mail, accompany patient transport and deliver to other external sites of the USB with the chauffeur. You will complete further internal internships in the central warehouse and food warehouse. There you will work directly at goods receiving, picking, replenishment and warehouse management, ensuring that all specialists (doctors, nurses, cooks, etc.) have the right material, in the right quality, in the right quantity, at the right time and in the right place.

During your training, you will also have the opportunity to complete an internship with our external partner companies.
