Specialist medical training
As a junior doctor at the University Hospital Basel, we will provide you with professional support from the very first day of your residency. Six reasons that speak for us:
1. 35x cutting-edge medicine
Our experience speaks for itself: every year we train over 600 doctors. Of the 45 medical specialty titles in Switzerland, you can choose from 33 specialties.
2. inspiring rotation system
We offer you the appropriate planning of the rotations relevant to your further training (including emergency and intensive care unit) and take into account your wishes for rotations in special areas.
3. best opportunities for women
Active promotion of women in the medical field is a matter of concern to the USB - which is why we have developed a catalog of measures and offer mentoring, coaching and career planning specifically for female (assistant) doctors. With the career development program "Aiming Higher", female doctors in further training are actively supported in their career planning - you can also find more information on this topic under "Gender-equitable promotion of junior staff".
4th top hospital with state-of-the-art medicine
The triangle of university, research institutions and life science companies characterizes our inspiring, international everyday life. The result: cutting-edge medicine with future-oriented knowledge transfer.
5. everything from a single source
You can plan your entire specialist training with us: our large network with partner institutions in Switzerland and abroad offers scope for a great deal of exchange in the area of clinical training and within the framework of research collaborations.
6. and also:
25+5 vacation days and days off, attractive salary, support with relocation and finding accommodation, exciting company sports activities, childcare, part-time models, work location in the heart of the city and, and, and!
