OR care and technology
Operating room nursing staff take care of sterile materials and equipment as well as technical devices in the operating room. With the utmost precision and concentration, they play a key role in ensuring that surgical procedures are successful.
OR nursing is the backbone of the operating doctors: their tasks include preparing and following up patients and the operating theaters for operations, as well as supporting the medical teams during the operation.
The OR nursing team positions patients, hands out instruments and operates the sometimes highly specialized technology. Hygiene is also one of the central tasks of the OR nursing team - in addition to quality documentation and service recording.
The following roles exist at the USB within OR nursing and technology:
- Certified specialist in surgical technology HF
- Operating room positioning (further training course after completing the FaGe training)
- Coordination (for people with a nursing background)
"The USB is a super exciting place to work with modern premises, lots of daylight and interesting specialist areas."

Jan de Voogd, Head of OR Technology

We also encourage temporary work at one of our partner hospitals for the purpose of further training.
OR technology specialists can train for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Systems Engineering (with a specialization in medical technology).
