Benefits
"The USB is a great employer, not least thanks to the many benefits we enjoy - I appreciate the wide range of sports on offer, for example."

Childcare
With us, parents benefit from attractive and very flexible childcare options. The "SpatzenNest" is our internal daycare center - plus additional external childcare places. For emergencies, we have set up the "SpatzMobil", which comes to your home if your child is ill or you work at night. And the "FerienSpatz" is also available during the vacations so that you know your little ones are in the best hands.

We also support managers and those responsible for vocational training and education in their further development. You can find everything you need to know about this under Training & Development.
Vacation & Flexdays
Our employees receive 5 weeks' vacation - i.e. 25 vacation days. From their 50th birthday, this becomes 28 vacation days and from the age of 60, 32 vacation days.
In addition to the regular vacation entitlement, the USB also offers the popular flex days: all employees receive an additional five flexible vacation days per year, which they can either redeem annually or accumulate over a maximum of five years. This means that nothing stands in the way of a longer dream trip or a sabbatical!
Staff restaurant & garden
Our two staff restaurants provide refined and balanced meals for our employees. The kitchen team is always coming up with new ideas, bringing variety to the menu. Naturally, employees receive reduced prices on food and drinks.
Our offer also includes our popular Café Centrino, which is located directly next to the hospital garden and invites you to sit outside in summer. The garden, our green oasis, is big enough for a walk during lunch break or for a relaxing break on one of its many benches.
Sport, exercise & advice
Yoga before work or Pilates during your lunch break? How about Zumba to hot rhythms? The range of sports and exercise options at the USB is extensive and has something to suit everyone. If you like, you can visit our in-house gym or join one of the university hospital sports clubs, where you can play football, volleyball or squash.
In addition to sport and exercise, we also offer other helpful services for employee health: relaxation programs, a staff medical service and ergonomic consultations are also available if required.
In the heart of the city

Here you will find the best living and working conditions and are right in the middle of the life science hotspot of Northwestern Switzerland every day. You can also walk to Basel's old town, the popular banks of the Rhine or one of the city's many green parks in five minutes.
