Nursing specialist

Certified nursing specialist HF

Are you interested in training as a qualified nurse HF? That's great, because we offer exciting opportunities for people like you.

Information on training

As an HF nurse, you will care for patients of all ages, be in contact with relatives and work together with the nursing team and employees from other professional groups and specialist disciplines.

As a qualified nurse, you will take on the main responsibility for shaping the care process - from A to Z, i.e. from the admission interview to discharge planning. Your activities? Quite a lot: Care after illness or accident, support during a protracted illness or accompanying the dying and their relatives. You work closely with patients, relatives, the nursing team and staff from other specialist areas. As an HF nursing specialist, you also deal with health promotion, health maintenance and prevention. Your nursing activities are based on current scientific knowledge and professional ethical principles.

Theory and practice go hand in hand. You learn the theoretical knowledge at school and the practical knowledge with us - in training blocks lasting several weeks on different wards. A total of three such practical blocks are planned during your training. You will spend the second work placement - as part of a change of working field - in another company.

The theoretical training and learning in LTT sequences (training and transfer learning area) takes place at the Bildungszentrum Gesundheit (BZG) in Münchenstein. Students are supported by vocational trainers in their everyday work and training. During your training, you will be supervised together with other students from different levels and training courses - for example, together with health and social care assistants, healthcare assistants, nurses HF and FH.

The duration of your training is 3 years. If you have already completed a healthcare assistant apprenticeship, you can complete the apprenticeship in just 2 years.

  • Secondary level II qualification, preferably in a related profession with a federal certificate of proficiency
  • Vocational, technical or high school diploma or equivalent qualification

In addition to academic qualifications, you will need to have personal and social skills such as a sense of responsibility, empathy, flexibility and the ability to deal with conflict and work in a team. You should also be physically and mentally resilient.

  • Learning island: Learners and students learn with and from each other
  • 5 weeks vacation
  • 13th monthly salary
  • Practical and personal support
  • Great offers, such as free sports courses and discounts at Ticketcorner
  • Wide range of further training opportunities in nursing, such as various postgraduate courses
