Job description
As a qualified nurse, you will care for patients of all ages, be in contact with relatives and work together with the nursing team and employees from other professional groups and specialist disciplines.
As a qualified nurse, you take on the main responsibility for designing the care process - from A to Z, i.e. from the admission interview to discharge planning. Your activities? Quite a lot: Care after illness or accident, support during a protracted illness or accompanying the dying and their relatives. You work closely with patients, relatives, the nursing team and staff from other specialist areas. As an HF nursing specialist, you also deal with health promotion, health maintenance and prevention. Your nursing activities are based on current scientific knowledge and professional ethical principles.
Training process
The apprenticeship lasts 2 years. During these two years, you will get to know two different departments.
Prerequisites
You have completed training as a healthcare specialist EFZ.

Career opportunities
After your training, you will have numerous opportunities for further education and training.
As a qualified nurse at the USB, you have the opportunity to specialize in anaesthesia, intensive care and emergency care. With the HF nursing diploma, you can also complete a shortened course of study at the University of Applied Sciences to become a midwife FH.
Or you can work directly at the USB on the nursing wards.
You can also complete a Bachelor's or Master's degree in nursing science at a university of applied sciences or university. A position in nursing management or in the field of nursing education are further prospects after your training.
